Food Wars Anime and Manga

One of the best anime shows this season has to be Food Wars. This is because you are going to get an exciting series that can only be found in anime. Not only are you going to find the usual types of romances, but you are also going to find a lot of twists that you are going to enjoy.

Story of Food Wars

From the young age Souma Yukihira helped his father in the restaurant. He was a sous chef that developed a passion to entertain restaurant guests with his culinary creations. He wants to own a restaurant himself one day.

His father decides to close the restaurant because he wanted to travel a world and test his cooking abilities. He send Souma in elite cooking school called Tootsuki Culinary Academy where only 10% of the students graduate.

Tootsuki Culinary Academy is famous for Food Wars where students compete in cooking showdowns. Here Souma gives his best to survive the extreme lifestye that academy has thrown at him. He is putting everyting he learn during the years to the test.

Characters

The characters are easy to relate to and the anime keeps it interesting, which I really enjoy. It doesn’t take long for Souma to get into a whole mess of trouble that is much bigger than he had anticipated.

I know from experience that drama in anime is one of the best things to watch. In Food Wars, we also have a romantic relationship that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. It makes the show exciting and enjoyable. The real hero, Souma, and the other characters are a very pleasant surprise as well.

Food Wars Manga

The manga version of the story is very different, however. It is written from Souma’s point of view. In this way, the romance and what happens around him is very different from what happens in the anime version.

The romance in the manga version is more complicated and the characters tend to be much more interesting. When the relationship is a lot more complicated, the viewers are usually forced to think about why these two people are together. What are they doing that can make the two people happy? This is a lot of fun to watch and can easily be compared to watching a romantic comedy.

The Food Wars story is very fast paced, because everything is written very fast. You have something to look forward to each episode. I enjoy the manga version more because there is a lot more action going on. That is probably one of the biggest differences between the two versions.

Final thoughts

If you do decide to give either the manga version or the anime version of Food Wars a try, I suggest reading the manga before you decide to watch it. It is because you can get a good idea of what to expect and enjoy a lot more than just watching a few episodes. Either way, both versions are entertaining and you will never get bored with either of them.
